"When failure is normative, resilience becomes second nature." - Principal El
Feeling the excitement from Dr. Salome Thomas-EL, Principal El, and enthusiasm throughout this episode of The Innovator’s Mindset Podcast is incredibly inspiring and uplifting! Principal El and George Couros talk about the power of leadership, how Principal El started a school Chess Club, and how relationships impact the school as a whole. The two get very serious about some conflict that involved Principal El and the school board - Principal El shares how he advocated for more appreciation to be shown to the teachers at his school and how that resulted in some conflict with the board - hear this story and how it turned out for Principal El as he recounts the events. Principal El also talks more about his new book that is coming out and how it gives guidance to educators as they continue pushing their own learning. Principal El shares some amazing stories of the people he has connected with and learned from. This episode is a great reminder that the belief we have in learners inspires them to have a belief in the work that they can do and the impact they can have on others.
